Event Description

Join the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers (WSBDF) for a 62.1 mile/100K bike ride through the beautiful country side of Dane and Green Counties on June 2nd, with refreshment breaks at two grass-based dairy farms! The 2018, 15th Annual, Ride to Farm event will depart at 8:30am from, and end at, Goodland Park. Registration will start at 7:45am. The morning stop will be at Fisher Valley Dairy Farm in Oregon, WI and the afternoon stop will be at the Pauli Dairy Farm in Montrose, WI. (Note: if you are able to provide your own transport, it is also fairly popular to cycle just the morning or afternoon route (30 miles) and just stop at one farm or the other). Ride to Farm is a bicycle ride to raise awareness and funds for the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers (WSBDF) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The school's mission is "If you have a dream to farm, we're here to help you get started." The WSBDF emphasizes business planning and pasture-based farm management. Donations can be made to individual riders and teams, or you can make a general donation. Riders must raise a minimum of $75 to participate in Ride to Farm. There are awesome prizes for top individual fund raisers, including a brand new Trek road bike and Organic Valley product for a whole year!
