Earth Day Event: Woodland Spring Wildflowers Walk, a community science event & volunteer project

Event Description
Join the Friends of Capital Springs Recreation area for a woodland walk community science event to identify wildflowers and and post observations to the iNaturalist app. We will start with a half-hour orientation and practice time using iNaturalist. Then we will take a walk – led by expert naturalists – to identify wildflowers and post observations to the app.
The route is on unpaved trails with some hills, about 1 mile round trip.

Bring a smartphone with camera and mobile connection, drinking water, good walking shoes. In advance, download the iNaturalist app to your phone. For new users, consider reviewing the easy getting started page.

The event is limited to 30 attendees. All are welcome; youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cancellation: We’ll email you by 10:00 am on 4/22 if we cancel due to bad weather or lack of blooms (slow spring). Cancellation is posted on the Events page of the Friends web site at www.friendsofcapitalsprings.org/events/
