Dane County is also home to segments of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, one of 11 National Scenic Trails in the United States.The trail traverses some of Wisconsin’s most scenic landscapes, following the western extent of the most recent glacier some 10,000 years ago. One of the best places in the state to view a terminal moraine is along the trail as it passes through Prairie Moraine County Park.
