Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are critical to the health and vibrancy of our parks, contributing over 60,000 hours each year. Dane County Parks offers many volunteer opportunities for all ages, interests, abilities, and schedules. The benefits of joining us a parks volunteer include:

  • Learning about our park system and finding new spaces to love and explore
  • Meeting new people and building lasting relationships
  • Serving as an environmental steward and park advocate

Find upcoming events on our MyImpact Volunteer Portal or read about all our volunteer opportunities, seasonal and year-round, in the sections below. Make a HUGE impact and help our parks flourish - we couldn't do it without community help!

Register as a Volunteer

Register as a Dane County Parks volunteer though our online MyImpact Volunteer Portal. The process is easy, automatic, and allows you to sign up for any and all volunteer opportunities throughout the entire park system. Use the buttons below to navigate to our separate adult and youth registration pages.

Additional Information

We welcome volunteers of all ages, though some Volunteer Opportunities have different age restrictions listed. Individuals under the age of 18 must register as a Youth Volunteer before they may volunteer. Youth groups must have a chaperone and complete a Group Sign-In Registration & Release (PDF).

Sign up for volunteer emails to be notified when an event of interest is scheduled. Some opportunities may require an individual to register as a volunteer before being able to sign up.
