Goodland County Park

Located on the west shore of Lake Waubesa, Goodland County Park is one of the oldest county parks in Dane County, established in 1943. This 14-acre park is partially wooded and contains 600 feet of shoreline.  Facilities include two shelters, picnic areas, volleyball court, pickleball/tennis court (lines for both are on same court), basketball court, recreation field, play equipment, boat launch, and an unsupervised swimming area. The park also contains 600 feet of shoreline offering stunning views of Lake Waubesa. DJs or live music are not allowed at Goodland shelters.

The park is situated on the ancestral homeland of the HoChunk people and includes earthen mounds. State law protects all such burial areas against unauthorized disturbance. Visitors should avoid walking over or picnicking on mounds.

For information about the water quality at the beach, please visit the Goodland County Park Beach webpage from Public Health Madison and Dane County. The beach is part of the Clean Beach Treatment System project.
