Blooming Grove Drumlins Natural Resource Area

The 175-acre Blooming Grove Drumlins Natural Resource Area is located along Door Creek and was established to protect the glacial drumlin features and the surrounding wetlands.  Drumlins are low, smoothly rounded elongated hills of compact glacial till (sand, gravel, and rock) deposited under glacial ice and shaped by its flow, with the longer axis parallel to the direction of ice movement.  The City of Madison’s Door Creek Park abuts the property and has a parking lot and a trail that connects to county lands.

Fall and deer turkey hunting is available on 118-acres of the property through the county's Limited Access Archery Access Program.  The Glacial Drumlin to Capital City Connector Trail is planned to parallel the railroad corridor at the south end of the property with a spur trail and trailhead parking lot off East Buckeye Rd.
